The Fender Play curriculum for the Summer 2022 semester, follows the sequence of levels and courses set out on each instruments path:
Guitar - Pop
Bass - Rock
Ukulele - Single Path
New students will begin at level 1 of their path. The suggested pace averages 2-4 courses per week but it is ok to go faster or slower depending on how quickly your classes progress.
Continuing students may have varying levels of ability. Therefore we have provided a scope and sequence which allows teachers to select which level to start at, plus the option to choose their own pacing.
To access the LAUSD scope & sequences, which include: course descriptions, supplemental resources, tips and suggested assessment activities aligned to CA State Standards, visit this link.
You will find scope and sequences for both new and continuing students. The difference being, the scope and sequence for new students details levels 1 and 2. The scope and sequence for continuing students includes details for all levels. The pacing is left blank - we recommend teachers download or make a copy of the scope and sequence document, to then customize it with their choice of start point and weekly pacing - based on the needs of their classes. Information for each level is found via the labelled tabs at the bottom of the scope and sequence document.
The Summer program will cover 4 weeks with 4 sessions taking place per week starting at either 3pm or 4pm, for 1 hour.
